Brazilian football legend Pele : The legendary Brazilian soccer player and three-time World Cup champion Pele has passed away at the age of 82. He was largely regarded as the sport’s first true international celebrity.

In September of 2021, Pele had surgery to remove a tumour from the colon, marking the beginning of his treatment for colon cancer. He’d been hospitalised with a wide range of illnesses since last November.

Pele posted a picture of the winning Argentina team on social media, with captions complimenting team captain Lionel Messi, France’s emerging star Kylian Mbappe, and the surprise semi-finalists, Morocco.
