After being initially charged with second-degree murder, Theriault was later charged with manslaughter. According to the police, Theriault knew the victim before the incident. Bystanders recorded the violence on video, which quickly went viral on social media.

On Monday, November 7, Theriault, whose full name is Paige Theriault-Fisher, appeared in court for the first time, according to Bre McAdam of the Star Phoenix. A bail hearing is scheduled for Thursday, November 10, and according to McAdam, the prosecution fought to keep her in custody.

“On November 5, 2022, at 2:41 in the morning, police were summoned to a business in the 200 block of Third Avenue South due to a woman’s serious injuries.. When the responding officers arrived, they discovered a seriously hurt 23-year-old woman.

She passed away despite the efforts of first responders and Medavie Health Services West, according to a statement from the Saskatoon Police Department. They already knew each other. Inquiries are being conducted by police patrols, the Serious Crime Unit, the Serious Injury Unit, and the Forensic Unit.
