Xiaomi has finally unveiled the Xiaomi Civi 2 in China, following a few days of teasing. The company’s latest lifestyle smartphone features a fresh look and a spec increase.

Xiaomi Civi 2 Style

The design of the Xiaomi Civi 2 is similar to that of the Xiaomi 12 series and the Redmi K50 series. In other terms, it has a rectangular island on the back that houses the cameras and a triangle LED flashlight separated by lines.

Its front, on the other hand, is distinctive, with a pill-shaped selfie camera cutout at the top centre of the display. It, like its predecessor, has a thin and light form factor.

The Civi 2 has a thickness of 7.23mm and weighs 171.8g. It comes in three conventional colours: black, pink, and blue. It is also available in a unique Hello Kitty Edition with white paint and customizable motifs.

The Xiaomi Civi 2 features a 6.55-inch curved OLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels (FHD+), a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a colour depth of 10-bit.

The Corning Gorilla Glass 5-protected display is equipped with a fingerprint sensor at the bottom and a pill-shaped cutout at the top. It supports HDR content (Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+) and covers the whole DCI-P3 colour gamut.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 CPU is combined with LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2.2 storage, and a stainless VC liquid cooling system to power the phone. It runs MIUI 13 on Android 12.

On the back, it boasts a triple camera arrangement with an OIS-assisted 50MP Sony IMX766 main sensor, a 20MP Sony IMX376K ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP GalaxyCore GC02M1 macro shooter.The smartphone’s key selling point is its front-facing camera technology. Inside the pill are two 32MP sensors. The primary sensor has autofocus, while the secondary sensor has a 100° ultra-wide lens.

These two front-facing cameras are joined by quad LED flashlights that can work in a variety of colour temperatures. To take use of the hardware, Xiaomi has incorporated several camera functionality into the software.The handset supports dual-SIM, 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GNSS, NFC, and USB Type-C connectivity. It also has Dolby Atmos-compatible twin stereo speakers, a linear vibration motor, an infrared sensor, a 4,500mAh battery, and 67W fast-wired charging capabilities.

The Xiaomi Civi 2 will be available in China for the following prices beginning today at 3 p.m. CST.

Though Xiaomi has yet to confirm, rumours indicate that, unlike the original Civi and Civi 1S, the Civi 2 will be available outside of mainland China.

In overseas countries, the device might be known as the Xiaomi 12 Lite NE.
