Foldable iPad : To develop an incredibly thin cover glass that may be used in the company’s foldable gadgets, Apple is collaborating with LG. Apple will also keep funding the development of its own processor.
In the foldable smartphone market, several tech behemoths, including Samsung, Huawei, and Oppo, have already made their debuts. Now, a fresh rumour suggests that Apple may release its first foldable iPad rather than an iPhone in 2024. Ben Wood, chief of research at CCS Insight, an analyst, claims that Apple intends to utilise a foldable iPad in 2024 as a test bed for foldable technologies before the iPhone.

“A foldable iPhone is not now necessary for Apple to produce. We believe they will ignore that fad and perhaps experiment with a foldable iPad instead, Wood said CNBC in Apple interview. “Apple will be taking a huge risk by releasing a foldable iPhone. To begin with, it would have to be extremely pricey to avoid competing with the current iPhones.

According to online rumours, Apple is collaborating with LG to develop a very thin cover glass that might be used on its foldable gadgets. Apple will also keep funding the development of its own processor. Apple currently creates its own unique processors for the iPhone and iPad. However, it is dependent on Qualcomm to supply the modems that enable such gadgets to offer 5G connection.
Display : Foldable iPad
Ross Young, an analyst at Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), has asserted that Apple’s foldable iPhone could not debut until 2025. Apple and suppliers are currently discussing a 20-inch foldable display. If the business intends to develop folding MacBooks, it makes sense. These MacBook models, which are anticipated to be utilised both folded and fully opened, are slated to debut in 2026 or 2027.

According to an earlier story, it could have an 8-inch WQD+ flexible OLED display, with Samsung Display providing the bulk of the screen’s components. The Samsung Foundry will supply the DDI display controller.
In order to beat Samsung’s Y-Octa display, it is further suggested that Cupertino tech giant could use a silver nanowire touch solution for the foldable iPhone’s screen. This would be useful for future foldable devices that can have multiple folds, “rollable, medium to large size display, and durability.” The HomePod presently uses nanowire technology.
