History : Orchard Park
In the southwest portion of the township, Didymus C. Kinney and his wife Phebe (Hartwell) bought land and constructed a cottage in 1803, which has subsequently been transformed into a museum. The next year, a wave of Quaker settlers started to arrive.

The town was initially known as “Ellicott” after Joseph Ellicott, a representative of the Holland Land Company, after it was split off from the town of Hamburg in 1850. The name was changed to “East Hamburgh” after a few months. The town was called “Orchard Park” in the early 1930s after its main settlement.
Around South Buffalo Street, the majority of the core area of the village of Orchard Park was destroyed by a significant fire in the early 1900s.
The Johnson-Jolls Complex and the Buffalo, Rochester, and Pittsburgh Railroad Station are both recognised on the National Register of Historic Places.
