Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro : This year, Samsung unveiled two variations of the samsung Galaxy Watch 5; however, as opposed to past years, when we saw a normal model and one with a physical rotating bezel, Samsung has eliminated the actual dial and unveiled a “Pro” variation.
The marketing for the Watch 5 Pro is a little over the top, with Samsung contributing its fair part to the conversation about how much better the Watch 5 Pro is for outdoor activities than the regular Watch 5 model. Physically, it is made of tougher sapphire glass, has a titanium watch frame, and a significantly bigger battery, all of which may help it resist some more abuse.
The “Pro” designation is completed by a few software capabilities, such as the ability to import GPX files for biking and hiking as well as the option to have your return routes automatically drawn out in case you forget to do it yourself. See this thorough walk-through for all the information on how to utilise the new Route tile and GPX files. The samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is obviously not going to compete with your Garmin, Coros, or Polar GPS sports watch for intense outdoor activities and the need for weekly charge, but it is the longest-lasting premium smartwatch and will please the majority of recreational athletes.
Over the past three weeks, I’ve gone hiking, jogging, fishing, and sleeping with the Black Titanium samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, and I now have a good idea of what Samsung is attempting to do with the new watch. A few issues can be resolved with next software upgrades, despite the fact that it may be the brand’s newest wristwatch and the first to go Pro.
Google’s Wear OS, powered by Samsung, enables access to Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Pay, Messages, Keep Notes, and more on the Watch 5 Pro. Additional Samsung apps are also accessible, including Bixby, Samsung Health, Samsung Messages, and Samsung Pay. It is a Samsung Galaxy Watch, after all.

Hardware : Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro
The Galaxy Watch from this year doesn’t have a rotating bezel, but the Watch 5 Pro does have a somewhat distinct appearance because of the sapphire glass screen. The concave transition from the glass to the edge of the case, which enables your finger to swipe up and down to activate a similar bezel effect, has replaced the physical turning dial. Although the mechanism is now entirely software-enabled, I believe this finger guide design to be preferable to the flat glass of previous Galaxy Watch models and that it offers aficionados of the old revolving bezel some consolation.
People with smaller wrists may not even be able to utilise the Watch 5 Pro as it only comes in one size. Although it is larger than last year’s Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and has a thicker case to handle the larger battery, it is lighter and feels excellent on the wrist.
Although I like huge watches, the Watch 5 Pro is not quite as large as some of the Garmin and Coros watches I wear regularly, so don’t let the new look scare you. Additionally, according to Samsung, the greater size enables the watch’s base to be broader and extend further from the wrist, which enables the wrist sensors to read and track your health more accurately.
Display : Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro
Beautiful 1.4-inch Super AMOLED display with sharp letters, vibrant colours, and fluid touchscreen operation. With robust, outdoor-focused smartwatches, input lag and delays might occur often. Not so with the 5 Pro; taps and swipes have worked without a hitch, and I particularly like the pre-installed watch face alternatives.
This year’s watch case is made of titanium and is available in either black or grey. To get the Watch 5’s more vibrant hues, you must purchase the standard model. The speaker is uncomfortably placed on top of the watch, where the bands sort of hide it, while the microphone is situated on the right side between the navigation buttons.
The new D-Buckle Sport band, which is a far better option than the one I got with my Watch 4 Classic last year, is the standard band that came with the Watch 5 Pro. To adjust it, you slip a latch open, put the supple silicone band on, and then lock the latch. The new buckle’s level of security? I haven’t yet noticed the band opening up when I’m working out or going about my usual routines.
Personalizing the Galaxy Watch experience
Galaxy Wearable and Samsung Health are two essential Samsung applications used to control the samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. You should connect with the two services, both of which are free but highly useful, to get the most out of your wristwatch.
- Galaxy Wearable : The Galaxy Watch’s name, battery level, links to watch faces, settings, and other information are all displayed to you. You may customise the Watch 5 Pro’s watch faces within the app, including the colour theme and the metrics you want to show on the home screen. You may also select the compass index option in the Pro analogue watch face.
- Samsung Health : A smartphone app called Samsung Health compiles data gathered by the samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro into a visually pleasing experience. This home page offers data such as steps taken, workouts finished, sleep, stress, heart rate, and more, with access to full reports. In approved countries, tapping on ECG or blood pressure will launch the Samsung Health Monitor app, a separate service that compiles your measurements into clear reports for your doctor.
